Your reservation comes with so much more than the lodge itself. When you stay at Rockwood Lodge, you have private access to the entire property. Venture outside and revel in the landscape’s natural beauty. Go fishing in our lake, or visit the historic log cabin. The more you explore, the more you’ll discover.
Our Private Lake
Rockwood Lodge has direct access to a lake that sits right on the property. The lake is lower on the hillside, and you can get there by walking down a short path. After a brief walk, the path opens up to a private lake that’s only accessible via our property.
The lake is a calming sanctuary where guests can enjoy each other’s company. Take a canoe out on the water, or host a picnic along the shore. We keep our lake fully stocked, so you’re welcome to go fishing in it as well. Our lake is also the perfect spot for simply closing your eyes and communing with nature.
Historic Log Cabin
Our property is rich with history. We are proud to have one of the oldest log cabins in Macon County, dating back to the 1800s. The Cabin is a short distance into the forest, making it a quick and easy excursion for guests seeking adventure on the property.
The log cabin is a secret gem that’s visible to guests only. While the Cabin isn’t currently operational, we hope to restore it one day so guests can fully experience its rustic charm. In the meantime, guests are more than welcome to take pictures next to the Cabin!
